Why go to youth group or church? Why religion? Who needs the rules, the guilt, and the hypocrisy? Religion is boring! Have you ever had those thoughts? I have an do at this time. But Christianity really isn't about religion, it's about a relationship. It's about a relationship with god, through Jesus. It is about a diverse community of people who are called together and defined by said relationship.
Imagine a relationship with the very creator of all things. Imagine a relationship with the Being who can throw a star and have it land 18 billion light years away. Imagine a reltionship with the Being that spoke all things into existence, and yet is willing to listen to you, willing to accept you, willing to talk with you and already loves you. Imagine being free from shame. Imagine finding and living out the meaning and purpose of your life. Imagine being part of the solution in God's renewing all of creation, instead of adding to its brokeness. Imagine being part of a group or community that defines itself by its relationship to that Being. It is exciting, life giving, laughing, loving, forgiving, and full of freedom.
At St.MM's we are not perfect (far from it). We are however having fun, and finding meaning. Come join us just as you are. And bring your questions, bring your doubts, bring your hopes, bring your gifts and talents, and bring a friend. I hope you will join us in this adenture of life, faith, and love.
